New circuits and first-fix work provide the electrical foundation for extensions, renovations, new appliances, outbuildings and other changes to a property.

What I can help with

  • New cooker and appliance circuits.
  • Supplies for sheds, garages and outbuildings.
  • New circuits for extensions and converted spaces.
  • Supplies for new rooms and larger electrical installations.
  • First-fix wiring before plastering and finishes.
  • Planning circuit routes around the structure and final layout.

I will look at the existing installation and the intended load before deciding how the work should be arranged. Cable routes, access, protection and future use all matter when a new circuit is being installed.

Common questions

Can you install a new circuit in an existing house?

Yes. The installation needs to be assessed first so that the new circuit is appropriate for the existing supply and consumer unit arrangement, the cable route also needs to be assessed properly before work commences.

Can you run power to a shed or outbuilding?

Yes, where the property and installation allow it. The supply route, cable installation, earthing and protection all need to be considered as part of the job.

What is first fix?

First fix is the stage where cables and other concealed electrical work are installed before walls and finishes are completed.

Can you coordinate with a builder?

Yes. I can work to the project sequence and communicate what is required before areas are closed up.
