Can you add a socket where there isn’t one now?
Yes, this is one of my most commonly asked questions. The practical route depends on the existing circuit, cable routes and the location of the new point. I will assess that before deciding how the work should be carried out.
Can you replace old switches and sockets without changing the wiring?
In most cases, yes. I will check the condition of the existing installation and the accessory before recommending whether a straightforward replacement is appropriate – if your wiring is particularly old or degraded (VIR or lead cables for instance) then additional action may need to be taken.
Can you add sockets as part of a renovation?
Yes. This is a common reason for adding or relocating points, and it is usually best planned alongside the wider work so the final positions make sense for how the room will actually be used.
